Meet the Family

A little about Mike and I (Sarah) and our family.

Mike was born and raised in Reading, PA.  I am from Brunswick, Maine.  We have 3 kids, Gracie, Will, and Emma.

Mike and I started dating when I was attending graduate school in Philadelphia.  At the time, I met his dog Cooper.  Cooper was a lab mix that Mike had rescued when he was almost a year old.  He was a very sweet, loyal, and spunky dog!  He also had a lot of health issues.  Mike had taken the time and care to significantly improve his health, and he lived to be 12 years old with us.  Both Mike and I grew up having dogs.  Mike had a golden retriever and I had a terrier mix and Shelty.  When we met our friend’s dogs, English Labrador Retrievers, needless to say, we quickly fell in love with the breed. 

When our kids were 8, 5, and 3, we were looking for a patient, healthy, and loving family dog.  After much searching, we welcomed our puppy Bella to our home.  She immediately bonded with our family and fit right in.  Bella always likes to know where our children are and keeps an eye on them when they play in the yard. She patiently accepts little hands always wanting to touch her and snuggle.  Walks and swimming are some of her favorite things to do.  Bella doesn’t miss any of her naps, but she will fetch and run around with the kids in the yard.  And her fur!  Yes we have to brush her.  But I will say, even when she is caked in mud or runs through wet leaves, it comes right off.  This is a bonus for me (the primary cleaner upper in the house ). 

Currently, we reside in a small farmhouse with a little land in PA.  We love to garden, raise our chickens, work on projects, spend time with family, and take walks with Bella.
